From A Compact Camera

When I was 16, I saw that my classmate’s Canon PowerShot S80 camera at the school trip and it had fascinated me with the performance. And I was into the possibilities that photo can be shared! At the Holiday seasons in 2006, I received a Canon camera and that was the start of my journey to photography.

Since then, I loved to roam around my hometown with my red bicycle on the weekend. Had a snack and drinks on my bag pack, snapped all natures and objects which attracted my eyes. I loved to step in front of public with journalists for municipal event photos. When I recall my attitude, it was quite shocking that I never hesitated to stay in front without embarrassing.

Stepped Into DSLR world

And when I entered high school, I belonged to an afterschool club, and I was in charge to take photos for the school events with the club camera. The camera I was given was Sony A700, which was a decent armature camera.

It offered more chance to practice photoshoots in various situations such as sports game, activities, and road trip with diverse camera setup. Without the chance, maybe my journey was ended up with smartphone cameras.

After high school graduation, I had own DSLR with a part time job. Tried Nikon D80 for a while and switched back to Sony in 2013. Photographers always dream about having a flagship camera and bought Sony A900.

This is still one of my main cameras, I love the colour and contrast of the photo from the camera. This camera thought me how to use noises for an addition on photos.

With the new camera, I worked as parttime photographer at a Chinese tea shop. And I practiced my skill for macro and product photos. I never learned photography in class, and I had to go library and bookstores for resources.

New beginning from Canada

2015 December, dream about living in a foreign country had come true. Start 2 years course in a community college in Toronto, and it opened wide my eyes to capture the new world.

I had a privilege to attend couple wedding reception, and street snapshots and practiced my skill. To accommodate portrait environment, Canon camera and lenses were added on my equipment. And it’s being continued since 2016.
