Why Candid

‘Candid Photography’ is a term in photography, meaning ‘captured without creating a posed appearance.’ In candid photos, photographers capture natural smile or emotions that hard to find on posed shots.

Back in 90’s or early 00’s, ‘candid’ was the key to create remarkable photo. With all knowledges the photographer has, capture handful photos and try to snipe the best shot. But in 2022, everyone can obtain clear photos with smartphones in the pocket. And with AI technologies, clouds can be added or crowds behind the scenes can be removable without any trace.

Due to its trend with introducing AI images or editing mastery, we are seeking more clear and sharp photos day or night. But does it mean clear images always considered as well-taken photo?

Maybe you remember photos from National Geographic back in 80’s. At the perspective of image quality, they are not the best. But those photos are considered as a masterpiece due to its composition.

I understand which components make ‘well-taken’ photos and practice in daily life for better photography. We focus on discovering best angle for its story and capture it from selections of camera lenses.

Against to AI technology with one-click sharpening, denoise and object removal tools, I insist the traditional photography with minimum editing and touch-ups. I will continuously search for optimal angle and use bokeh were created by optics from camera.
